Why Your Toe Pain Can Be A Serious Issue?

A toe pain most of the time is not taken seriously and treated within one’s household.  However, these problems if frequently occurred needs proper care and medication. It can indicate a progressive disorder like bunions or degenerating bones as in arthritis. It is just more than common to find people having a bad day with pain in toes for these possible reasons.

Bunions

They are bony spurs formed on the inside at the foot. and these bony enlargements as similar and misunderstood to be an advanced stage arthritis. A bony bump on the joint at the base of your big toe can be red and sore depending on the severity of the condition. It occurs when the big toe pushes against the next toe, painfully forcing the joint of the big toe to get bigger as it sticks.The skin inflammation adds to the pain in toes and a narrow shoe might make them worse.

Gout

Gout or Podagra is caused by the excessive deposit of uric acid crystals in the joint and is treatable like bunions. They are cause bouts inflammation and pain. They are described as a metabolic condition affecting the big toe joint. It is often difficult to distinguish between gouty arthritis and an infected joined. So a doctor will take a sample of the fluid in the joint in order to test it for uric acid crystals.

Arthritis

Arthritis is commonly found in aged patients but not always as even children are susceptible to the condition. This is often associated with miserable pain in the joints.Its symptoms range from pain in the big toe with a grinding sensation. In severe cases, it causes stiffness and swelling. The foot functioning is affected by an inability to endure weight-bearing stress.

Trauma Or Fracture

 Osteoarthritis can be even caused due to a  fracture or dislocation of the big toe. Pain in cases of other factors such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis is noticeable while standing or walking.

Advanced Stages Of Arthritis

Persistent arthritis if left untreated causes knobby spurs that look like a bunion. This is often mistaken as a bunion and even doctors sometimes find it difficult to diagnose the problem as the spurs develop on the inside of the foot

Sesamoiditis

A sesamoid bone inflammation causes a stubborn condition called the Sesamoiditis. An acute chronic trauma is linked to activities involving balancing on toes or other sport related activities such as jumping,  ballet dancing or basketball. In most of the cases, the Fracture of a sesamoid bone causes pain under the ball of the foot and requires surgery to treat it.

Turf Toe

Turf toe is just like the Sesamoiditis and a sports-related injury. Even the pain is similar to the condition of the latter and is significant sees on the bottom of the big toe joint.  The pain stems from a Spain due to tears to a ligament in the toe.
